waiting

December 8, 2023
... they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Waiting is hard.
Blowing bubbles helps for awhile.

Allen made omelets and scrapple for breakfast.  It was another beautiful day. The babies took a walk with Allen. Half walking/running and the other half riding in the wagon.

We sat on the front steps while Krysta combed the curls. Nova and Angie have lots of curly hair! Combing involves spraying their hair with a squirt bottle.  Before we knew it there was a water spritzing going on - in December.

This weather is hard to believe.

      An art project

Krysta was getting lots of rest. In between she was doing exercises that supposedly help baby be in the right position for birth.
After lunch Allen and Krysta made a trip to Walmart to get some food. At the same time we hoped naps would overtake the three
little ones.

They soon came back and I drove the van around - through residential streets where the speed limit was 25 mph. We stopped behind a school bus four or five times. This was very distracting for Jasper and I started to think he would not fall asleep.

When he finally fell asleep I drove back to the house and sat in the van with them for awhile. Allen and Krysta were getting ready to go to the hospital. Deanne arrived from home and they took off.

I decided to stay and help with the little ones instead of driving  home.

We heard from Allen and Krysta that labor was moving along. Supper and dishes and baths and stories all filled in the time while we waited.

I fell asleep while planning this blog post. Suddenly I woke up with Deanne saying, "She's here!"

A message from Allen saying Gracia Anne was safely here. No other info was needed. We could sleep soundly. The babies slept and slept.
